Leapfrog Award

Childrens Hospital Los Angeles was one of 22 California hospitals recognized for its outstanding commitment to healthcare quality and patient safety by receiving the "Excellence in Patient Safety and Health Care Quality Award" from four of the state’s leading health plans: 

• Aetna
• Blue Shield of California
• CIGNA HealthCare of California 
• UnitedHealthcare

The award is based on results from the 2006 Leapfrog Hospital Quality and Safety Survey.  The Leapfrog Group is an initiative driven by organizations that buy healthcare and who are working to initiate breakthrough improvements for healthcare in America in:

• Quality
• Affordability
