Our scientists are determined to create a world in which all children are healthy.  Among our efforts to cure childhood illness, we are working to find better treatments for:

  • Autism
  • Cancer
  • Congenital heart defects
  • Epilepsy
  • Immune deficiencies
  • Respiratory disorders
  • Sickle cell anemia

A child's recovery will be greatly enhanced if the medical procedure or drug prescribed is precisely formulated for a child, and not for an adult.  Childrens Hospital Los Angeles has made significant strides in understanding how to treat children so that they recover from severe illness and injury as quickly and effectively as possible.

Our efforts in laboratory, clinical care, and community research, have all yielded results that have significantly improved care for children.  And many of our research efforts have resulted in treatments that have become the "gold standards" in care for children.
