Peggy & Andrew Cherng   Owners, Panda Restaurant Group

With the Living Proof Campaign underway, many corporations have already made generous contributions.

Rosemead-based Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., the parent company of Panda Express, recently donated $100,000 to the hospital.  Peggy Cherng, president and CEO of Panda Restaurant Group and a member of the hospital’s Board of Trustees, is working with her husband, Andrew, company founder and chairman, to raise awareness of the hospital within the Asian business community through its Panda Cares program.

HBO is another corporation that has joined forces with Childrens Hospital. Chris Albrecht, chairman and CEO of HBO, has been a longtime supporter of the hospital. The television company sponsored the HBO All Star Family Sports Jam on June 19, 2004, at the Barker Hangar of Santa Monica Airport. The benefit featured a live auction hosted by entertainer Billy Crystal, as well as all-star hockey and basketball scrimmages, skateboarding demos and many other activities. Team members from the Los Angeles Avengers and the Los Angeles Kings are scheduled to appear, as well as other sports stars and celebrities.

"Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is one of the finest pediatric research and teaching hospitals in the world," says Alan Wilson, co-chair of the Campaign’s Corporate Committee. "We expect that corporations will be excited to partner with Childrens Hospital and strengthen its efforts to help children."
