Our Research

Great ideas - the kind that transform medical science and bring the hope of new treatments - rarely happen in isolation. We are pushing the frontiers of biomedical knowledge at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles with our vigorous research programs, most of which are conducted within The Saban Research Institute of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and in active and rewarding collaborations with scientists at the University of Southern California, as well as with scientific colleagues at colleges and universities, the National Institutes of Health and other research organizations worldwide. Our goal: to bring the best ideas from the research laboratory to patients' bedsides as quickly as possible to the benefit of children and adults everywhere.

The Saban Research Institute

The Saban Research Institute of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is one of the nation's largest and most productive pediatric research facilities in the United States, with 93 investigators engaged in more than 200 laboratory studies, clinical trials and community-based research and health services. It is one of the few freestanding research centers in the nation to combine scientific inquiry with patient clinical care - dedicated exclusively to children. Its base of knowledge is widely considered to be among the best in pediatric medicine.

The USC-CHLA Institute for Pediatric Clinical Research

The USC-CHLA Institute for Pediatric Clinical Research at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles was established to conduct research on pediatric illness and disease, with a particular emphasis on clinical trials. With the combined resources of the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, investigators seek to discover the best means to diagnose, treat and prevent pediatric disease and to promote child and adolescent health.
