Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases

Because of breakthroughs in the treatment of childhood cancers, many pioneered by the physician-scientists at the Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases, in an approach to medical problem-solving that enables them to integrate their laboratory experience with their clinical expertise, children, teenagers and young adults receive the most advanced treatment available anywhere.

Our Accomplishments

The Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is one of the two largest pediatric cancer centers in America and the nation’s largest pediatric hematology/oncology program.  The Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is one of the largest and most influential members of the Children’s Oncology Group, a cooperative of 237 of the country’s most prestigious pediatric research centers.

The Center has made significant advancements in cancer care for children. The Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles pioneered treatments now used as the standard for acute leukemia, the most common childhood cancer.

Our Programs

HOPE (Hematology-Oncology Psychosocial and Education) Program
The HOPE Program provides a full-range of comprehensive support services for children, adolescents, and families treated in the Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases.  HOPE creates new approaches to integrated patient and family services, delivers professional and community education, and coordinates psychosocial and health outcomes research within the Center.
